The 2013 Exit Glacier Guides season was kicked off with a fantastic trip on Monday! We took a group of 5, (including some honeymooners!) up onto the ice for a great glacier exploration. While Brendan and Nate were the trip guides, it was truly a group effort from all of the guys at Exit. Everyone headed up to the ice earlier in the day to pack down the snow that remains on the Harding Ice Field Trail, finalize the possible routes on the glacier, and get some final training in for our newer guides. A few of them even helped our clients put on their crampons while Brendan and Nate familiarized themselves with the glacier routes.
The ice hikers had an awesome time and learned a ton about glaciology, native Alaska flora and fauna, and how much fun it is to walk in crampons! Thanks so much to our super fun clients. It was a great way to start the season, and we're psyched about all the upcoming ice hiking and ice climbing trips this summer!
